Project Coordinator, Building Science (Richmond, BC)

Our Richmond office is currently looking for a Building Science Project Coordinator to perform on-site investigations, property condition assessments and other on-site inspection and reporting services required to complete projects for Pinchin West’s industrial/commercial/residential real estate customers.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • A college diploma or university degree, preferably in a Construction, Architectural or Structural Engineering related field
  • 2 to 6 years’ related experience with structural design, building construction and/or maintenance
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction and performance of various building envelope assemblies
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD techniques would be an asset

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform property condition assessments, energy audits and condominium reserve fund studies
  • Schedule and conduct site visits and inspections
  • Review construction work and report on the builder’s adherence to contract documentation
  • Collate, interpret and analyze data in relation to legislative requirements
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Schedule and supervise sub-contractors and liaise between clients and subcontractors
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Participate in business development and marketing to new and existing clients
  • Foster and maintain long-term client relationships

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • 40 hour work week with occasional overtime
  • Weekend and evening work may be required
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle required
  • Travel throughout the city and surrounding areas – mileage reimbursement
  • Periodic travel within BC and Alberta will be required – travel/mileage reimbursement
  • Field work 50%, office 50% – subject to change based on project workload
  • Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (respirator, hard hat, steel-toed boots, etc.)
